LED light therapy

What is LED LIGHT Therapy?

LED light therapy is one of our most popular treatments. LED stands for light-emitting diode. This is a popular type of therapy that promotes anti-ageing effects, reduces inflammation, and treats acne. It uses different degrees of LED wavelengths, depending on the skin issue. Light is used in the visible spectrum, including red, amber, yellow, and blue, as well as beyond the visible spectrum allowing different depths of the skin are penetrated. This treatment is tailored  to suit your specific skin goals, for example, blue is usually for acne treatment, whereas red light is often used for anti-ageing.

How Does LED Therapy Work?

LED light devices use different wavelengths of light, including red, amber, green, yellow, and blue, which the receptors in the skin can absorb. The light provides a source of energy, which can catalyse the renewal of tissues in your skin. Each spectrum or colour will correspond to a certain target treatment in your skin. Different wavelengths will achieve varying penetrations depths which determine the biological reactions your skin has.

Benefits of treatment?

  • Treat acne.
  • Reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Facilitate wound healing process.

People with any skin type and color can benefit from this treatment. LED therapy doesn’t use ultraviolet (UV) light, so it doesn’t cause damage or burns to your skin.

Recovery time after treatment

There isn’t a recovery time for LED therapy. Other than being careful about sun exposure in the 48 hours after treatment, you can return to your normal everyday routine.
