Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial

What is PRP Treatment?

The Platelet Rich Plasma Facial, also known as The Vampire Facial is a favourite amongst celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Rupert Everett. The treatment involves harvesting Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) from the clients own blood. The harvested Platelets are then applied to the skin, to stimulate the body’s natural healing process and repair system. Platelets in our blood contain growth factors which are responsible for healing injured or damaged tissue. By penetrating PRP into the specified treatment area this triggers cells in that area to reproduce rapidly, stimulating repair, increasing volume and rejuvenating skin.

What happens during a PRP facial?

During treatment your Practitioner will draw 10-20ml of blood from your arm this procedure is similar to when you would have blood taken by your GP. The blood is then spun in a Centrifuge and spun very rapidly this allows the Platelet Plasma to be separate from the Red Blood Cells.

The PRP is then applied topically and a Dermaroller is used to help it penetrate deeper into the skin, maximising results.

What conditions can a PRP facial treat?

A PRP Vampire Facelift is ideal for treating the following conditions:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Crepey Skin
  • Crows Feet
  • Sagging Skin
  • Drooping Skin
  • Dull skin

PRP facial treatment works to generate collagen in the skin and help your face look fuller and less lined. The effects of the facial begin showing up right away and increase over the course of three to six months. Most people see the effects of this treatment for up to a year.

Which is better microneedling or PRP?
In terms of benefits, PRP injections often give better results since this treatment is injected directly into the skin whereas microneedling is more of a topical-over the skin treatment.
