Hair Restoration (HRS)

Hair restoration wih microneedling

Microneedling is a technique which makes use of an instrument with multiple fine medical grade microneedles each measuring1.5 mm long. This instrument is used to drive in nutritive solutions and plant derived stem cell solutions into the scalp by rolling it in different directions, after adequate cleansing. It is a simpler procedure as compared to PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment which takes longer procedure time and is more painful.

Will microneedling work on all types of hair fall?

Most of the scientific studies on Microneedling have been done on patients with male pattern and female pattern baldness. In our experience it works well even on Chronic Telogen effluvium.

How does microneedling work?

Multiple mechanisms are postulated

  • Release of platelet derived growth factor, epidermal growth factor and over expression of hair growth

related genes through platelet activation and skin wound regeneration.

  • Wound healing process activates stem cells of hair.

  • Increases blood circulation to hair follicles.

  • Medicine penetrates better through channels created by microneedles

Is it a painful procedure?

Microneedling can cause mild discomfort, but it is very tolerable.

What is the procedure schedule followed?

We generally follow the below protocol-

Once a week X 6 sessions followed by

Once in 3 weeks X 4 sessions

When can I find results?

Patients usually find significant reduction in hair fall after 3-4 sittings. Visible results might take longer. Treatment for 10 weeks is recommended.
